Police recover 4 illegal home-made firearms in Laikipia

A multi-agency security team in Laikipia county yesterday recovered 4 illegal home-made guns capable of firing.

According to the National Police Service, members of the public gave the police a tip that led to the recovery.

In yet another operation, the multi-agency security team conducting ‘Operation Maliza Uhalifu North Rift’ yesterday recovered 15 camels and four illegal firearms.

The firearms were recovered after the team subdued bandits who had stolen the animals at Sulubei Grazing Fields.

According to the police, one G-3 rifle was recovered at Amoler Location in Pokot Central Sub-County, while three other rifles which included an AK-47, M-16 and a Carabine MK-1 were recovered at Latakweny Village in Samburu North Sub-County.
