Nakuru County official Samwel Kingori succumbs to Covid-19

Nakuru County has lost a Public Health Chief Officer Samwel Kingori who has succumbed to Covid-19 complications while undergoing treatment today.

Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyajui, in a statement, confirmed that the county official  had been hospitalised for a few days and died on Monday morning following a cardiac arrest.

The Governor mourned the deceased as a general in the fight against Covid-19 who mobilised trained and coordinated the public health workers as well as vulnerable groups across the county with amazing outcomes in all fronts.

“He was instrumental in laying our healthcare strategy plan that resulted in the upgrade of service delivery and infrastructure. He was very passionate for results and took great pride in a better Nakuru,” Governor Kinyanjui said.

“Our condolence to the family, friends and the Nakuru community at this difficult moment of pain. May the Almighty God rest his soul in eternal peace.” he concluded.
This comes three days after Mandera lost their Finance and Economic Planning CEC Ibrahim Barrow Hassan who succumbed to Covid-19.

The news was confirmed by the Governor of Mandera  Ali Roba, who said Barrow had served in the position for the last eight and a half years.

“It is with a heavy heart that we receive the news of the death of Mr. Ibrahim Barrow who has been the County Executive Committee member for Finance for the last eight and a half years. Mandera County Assembly mourns and stands with the family during this trying times,” he said.

Roba mourned the deceased as a disciplined and dedicated staff of Mandera County government.

“He transformed financial management at the county with very special commitment to deliver results. May the Almighty Allah grant patience and perseverance to his family and colleagues during this trying moment,” he said.
