Mozzart Bet Cup draw sets stage for tournament kickoff
A couple of teams did not register for this year’s tournament from the National Super League especially due to financial concerns

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Mozzart Bet Cup officially kicked off with the tournament draw held Tuesday. The competition gets underway this weekend with the Round of 64 matches scheduled for February 22–23, 2025.
This season promises thrilling action, featuring a diverse mix of FKF Premier League giants, fearless lower-tier challengers, and ambitious non-league contenders.
The Round of 64 will be played this weekend on February 22nd and 23rd, 2025, followed by the round of 32 in March, and then by the Round of 16 in April, The quarterfinals and semifinals are set for May, with the grand finale scheduled for June.
With a coveted trophy, prize money, and a potential CAF Confederation Cup slot on the line, teams will be giving their all from the opening round. The tournament also provides an opportunity for underdogs to challenge Kenya’s top-flight giants, making it one of the most exciting knockout competitions in the country.
Amongst the matches lined up include defending champions Kenya Police vs Superior Hotel, Marafiki vs Bidco United, Dero vs AFC Leopards, KSG Ogopa vs Gor Mahia, Gituru vs Murang’a SEAL, TBM Health vs Kakamega Homeboyz, Spitfire vs Kariobangi Sharks, Kirinyaga Allstars vs Ulinzi Stars, Gucha Youth vs Tusker and RWAFA vs Bandari amongst others.
Kenya Police are the defending champions, having clinched the 2024 FKF Cup title after defeating KCB 8-7 in a dramatic penalty shootout following a goalless draw in regulation and extra time.An interesting duel will be that of Dero and AFC Leopards. AFC Leopards will face Dero FC. The last time these two sides met at this stage in 2017, AFC Leopards dominated with a staggering 15-1 victory at Moi Stadium in Kisumu and went on to lift the cup that year.
