Manhunt launched for three suspects who robbed woman of phone, money in Kericho
Detectives based in Kericho County are searching for three men believed to have violently robbed a woman traveling in a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) yesterday night.
The 21-year-old woman was attacked in a seven-seater black Toyota Wish at 9 pm at a stage opposite Kipchimatt Supermarket, bound for Chepseon area of Kericho.
According to Directorate of Criminal Investigation, while boarding the vehicle the young woman found three male occupants, a driver and two others whom she believed were passengers like her.
“After covering a distance of one kilometre, the driver asked the woman for her fare. Shortly after, one of the suspects grabbed her by the neck and ordered her to surrender her phone and money,” read DCI statement.
“The chocked and terrified victim complied, whereby the malefactors threw her from the vehicle at Duka Moja area and sped off.”
She was later helped by a Good Samaritans who found her in excruciating pain who reported the incident to the police.
