Leaders condole with MP Sankok’s family following son’s death

Leaders have sent their messages of condolence to the family of Nominated Member of Parliament David Sankok following the death of his son.
Memusi Sankok, 15, died after shooting himself using his father’s pistol. It is alleged that he committed the act after an altercation with his father.
Azimio One Kenya Coalition presidential candidate Raila Odinga who also lost his son, 41-year-old Fidel Castro Odinga in 2015, described the death of a child as the most painful experience ever.
He also wished the MP and his family courage through the hard times.
“Hon. David Sankok, it is painful to experience losing a child, and even more so, difficult having to bury one; we stand with you during this difficult time,” he said.
“Please accept condolences from Mama Ida and I. May God grant your entire family fortitude,” Odinga said in a tweet.
Baringo Senator Gideon Moi also sent his message wishing the family God’s comfort.
“I convey my heartfelt condolences to Hon. Sankok and his family following the tragic loss of his son.
You are in our thoughts and prayers Mheshimiwa during this difficult time. Take heart and find comfort in God the Almighty,” he said.
Gladys Wanga, the Homa Bay MP joined the two leaders in praying for the family of the nominated Member of Parliament. Wanga wished Sankok God’s peace in the trying moments.
“My brother Ole Sankok pole sana for your tragic loss. The loss of a child is the most painful experience a parent can face,” she said.
Police reports indicate that when Sankok’s son shot himself, he was alone in the house and that he shot himself on the chin.
