Komarock Member of County Assembly (MCA) aspirant and a local businessman Edison Natambeya Nandoli was shot dead by armed gunmen under unclear circumstances.
The motive of his killings remains a mystery since nothing was stolen from him.
Although police are yet to make any arrests in connection with the murder, Natembeya and a disabled man were killed by the same vicious gang that murdered a police officer and badly injured the officer’s lady companion.
“The motive of the attack remains unknown. Investigations are underway.” An officer privy with the investigations said.
Natembeya was campaigning on a Ford Kenya party ticket, an affiliate party to the National Super Alliance (Nasa).
At the time, Natembeya was driving his car which the gunmen tried to carjack. A disabled occupant on board identified as Wemba Mbakhaya was also killed.
Natembeya had bullets lodged in his chest and stomach.
Ford Kenya Party leader who also doubles as Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula expressed shock over the murder and demanded expeditious police investigations to establish the motive and those behind the killing.
“Ford Kenya candidate Komarock ward Nairobi, Edison Natembeya shot dead in Nairobi. We demand thorough and open investigations.” Wetang’ula said through a twitter handle post.
