Over 400 nurses in Kirinyaga County have abandoned their strike and resumed their duties fearing for their jobs
The striking nurses defied Kenya National Union of Nurses Kirinyaga county branch and returned to their work station claiming the union officials have no concrete agenda on the way forward.

The health providers unanimously agreed to call off the strike after Kirinyaga county governor Ann Waiguru advertised over 500 positions to replace the striking nurses.

A nurse at Kerugoya hospital confirmed that already the hospital operations have returned to normal and they are admitting new patients and all operations are going on uninterrupted.
