Huduma Kenya to open 59th centre in Mogotio

Previously, residents of the area had to travel to Nakuru or Kabarnet to access government services

Huduma Kenya will construct 10 to 20 more Huduma Centres this financial year, Chief Executive Officer Ben Kai Chilumo has said.

The move will mark a major step in enhancing public service accessibility.

Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku is scheduled to preside over the opening of Huduma Centre’s 59th centre in Mogotio tomorrow.

Previously, residents of the area had to travel to Nakuru or Kabarnet to access government services.

Speaking at GPO and Kibra Huduma centres, Chilumo said the expansion aligns with the government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), aiming to bring services closer to citizens at the grassroots.
He also announced that plans were underway to construct five new Multichannel Service Delivery innovations designed to improve access, including a User-Tutorial Portal, Huduma Digital Assistant (Chatbot), Huduma Self-Service Hiosk, Huduma on Wheels and a Universal Agent (Universal Public Servant).
Huduma Kenya offers a wide range of physical and over 16,000 online services.

Currently, the services are available at 58 Huduma centres in all the 47 counties; Huduma Contact and Tele-Counselling Centre, which is accessible through the call number 1919; Huduma Mashinani outreaches; and Huduma Electronic and Mobile (www.hudumakenya.go.ke and USSD *191#).

The platforms provide self-service, assisted and Digital Government Services under one roof from various ministries, counties, departments and agencies.

Huduma Kenya is celebrated for its transformative and citizen-centric approach to public service delivery.

During the visit, Chilumo presided over the handover of leadership between GPO Centre Manager Jackline Otieno and Kibra’s Steve Odotte, commending both for their exceptional service and urged continued commitment to customer service excellence.
