High school principal arrested for allegedly engaging in sexual act with a KCSE student

A high school principal was arrested by police in Kuresoi South, Nakuru County for allegedly engaging in sexual act with a student sitting for her KCSE exam.

The school-head was arrested yesterday after he allegedly drove home with the learner, who had completed her day’s exam.

Confirming the incident, Kiptagich Location Chief Wycliffe Too said the Chebotoi Secondary School Principal, Mr. Leonard Baraza, was nabbed following a tip off from area residents.

Both the principal and the student are of one school, police said.

The age of the KCSE candidate is under investigation, with reports suggesting she might be over 18 years old.

The two were taken to Kiptagich Police Station before the girl was escorted to Kiptagich Health Centre where medical test confirmed that she had engaged in sexual intercourse with the teacher.

The girl was later allowed to go home in the company of her parents while the principal was detained at the police station until around 11pm when he was released on free bond as police await for the girl to present her birth certificate for further action.

The outcome of the medical tests would determine whether the school-head will be charged with defilement, should it also be established that the KCSE candidate is a minor.

The principal was later released on police bond as investigations into allegations levelled against him continue.
