Heavily pregnant woman drowns in a well in Mwonge Village, Tharaka-Nithi County

A somber mood has engulfed a sleepy Mwonge village in Meru South Sub County in Tharaka Nithi County after a heavily pregnant woman drowned while fetching water from a well.

The deceased, aged 42 years is believed to have tripped and fell in the well during her home routine chores yesterday.

Her body was retrieved and booked at Chuka County Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy examination.

“Her body has since been retrieved and booked at Chuka County Referral Hospital mortuary.” An eyewitness told The Informer.
