A night guard was shot dead in a robbery incident at Lower Kabete Road, Nairobi on Wednesday at dawn.
The guard was on duty when a gang struck at a private residence making away with an unknown amount of money and other valuables.
Police say he tried to fight the group prompting them to shoot him in the chest killing him instantly.
Separately, a suspected thug was on Tuesday lynched in an incident in Kamukunji area, Nairobi.
The suspect was accused of being a thief. A mob chased and stoned him to death.
