Government committed on timely disbursement of monies to counties, DP Gachagua tell governors during IBEC meeting

The National government is committed to timely disbursement of funds to the counties, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua told governors while chairing the Intergovernmental Budget and Economic Council (IBEC) session at his official residence in Karen, Nairobi earlier today.

Gachagua chaired the 22nd session of IBEC emphasised that this will enable counties to deliver service and develop.

At the same time, the Deputy President urged governors to prioritise payment of verified pending bills for a stronger economy.

He also called for collaboration between both levels of government in addressing the rising wage bill and corruption.

He applauded the counties for supporting  the  Affordable Housing and Universal Health Care programmes.
