Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba claims her life is in danger
She alleged that President Ruto's administration does not respect women after her bodyguard was withdrawn
Githunguri Member of Parliament Gathoni Wamuchomba now claims her life is in danger after the State withdrew her security detail.
Speaking to the press after honouring summons by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations earlier today, the legislator claimed that the government has deployed a group of people to intimidate her.
Wamuchomba alleged that President William Ruto’s administration does not respect women and that is why it withdrew her bodyguard.
“The government does not respect women. If they did, they would have given me 10 bodyguards. I only had one bodyguard, whom they withdrew the same way they withdrew Gachagua’s bodyguard. Then, when something happens to me, they will say it is political warfare. I want to state here that my life is in danger,” Wamuchomba lamented.
The vocal MP who is an ally of former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua claimed that the government has hired a goon to intimidate her, putting her life in danger.
She called on the government to restore her security and increase the number of bodyguards to four.
The lawmaker accused the Kiambu County Commissioner of dismissing her call for investigations on the private number that issued summons to her to appear before the DCI.
She stated that the police boss dismissed her, saying it was not in their place to conduct the inquiry.
According to the MP, the call was from her political adversaries, who allegedly wanted to block her from visiting Githunguri Stadium ahead of the president’s development tour in the region.
The MP has faulted the silence of President Ruto regarding goons unleashed on Gachagua’s allies.
Wamuchomba specifically pointed out the infiltration of goons at the PCEA Kasarani church where Gachagua was worshipping yesterday .
Over the weekend, the legislator stated that the reason for being summoned by the Kiambu DCIO was because of the viral video, which showed her chanting anti-Ruto songs with a group of youths.
