Gachagua goes hard on Ruto as unified opposition alliance is mooted
Gachagua’s most brazen attack

Immediate former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has told off President William Ruto over what he termed lies and corruption labeling the State House as centre of graft.
This was Gachagua’s most brazen attack as he went against his former Boss during the launch of DAP-Kenya’s new headquarters in Karen at a function attended by Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, DAP-K Party leader Eugene Wamalwa and former UDA Secretary General Cleophas Wamalwa.
He said; “Rigathi Gachagua: I want to give my commitment that we are part of this team and we will walk this journey together to liberate this country and we shall make whatever sacrifices necessary to make sure that William Ruto is a one term President.”
The former deputy president accused Ruto of betraying people who took him to the State House during the hotly contested 2022 presidential race.
“President William Ruto has a very short memory. This team here we sat with him in my house and we assured him that he would be President and we will do whatever it takes to make sure he is President. We took him to the State House and when he reached there, he put aside everything we had agreed on about how we need Kenya to be,”added the outspoken Ex-DP.
“We had agreed on the bottom-up economic model of putting money into people’s pockets. The minute he reached the State House he changed course, got a small team of economic advisors and came up with a very brutal program of removing whatever little money was in people’s pockets from their pockets,”stated Gachagua.
Former Defense Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa on his part has told President Ruto that Kenyans will not allow him to take the country back to the 2007/2008 Post-Election Violence route again. Wamalwa warned that Kenya would remain one indivisible nation under one God as enshrined in the Constitution of Kenya and that Kenyans will not allow themselves to be taken back to what happened during the period.
“We will not allow you to go that line again. We will not allow you to go that road again. We will not allow you to demonize any community as it happened in 2007 when some leaders spoke passionately against one community versus 41 communities.”
Wamalwa, said castigating one against 41 community as he seems to be doing will make President Ruto a candidate for impeachment, and branded a tribalist as this was the cause of former Deputy President Gachagua impeachment.
He said isolating and demonizing Mt Kenya as he is doing now will only make President Ruto be viewed as a “tribalist and a candidate for impeachment and a candidate for International Criminal Court (ICC). We will take you back to ICC.”
The DAP leader said the President Ruto had blocked deliberately the reconstitution of the Independent Electoral Boundary Commission (IEBC) from the moment the tenure of the commissioners ended. He added that since the commissioners left, several seats have been declared vacant but the bye-elections could not happen due to their absence.
“These areas have stayed without representations, which is a violation of their political rights under Kenyan Constitution. As we speak, the main delay was about broadening the government of national unity,” Wamalwa said.
He said President Ruto should not have any hope in having votes from Mt Elgon or Western Kenya saying once Mt Kenya voters deserted him, votes from western will rescue him.
Former UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala said once Mt Kenya deserted, President Ruto remained with a shell as 60 per cent voters left.
“He remains with only 20 per cent which if he adds to ANC will not help him,” Malala said. He said Ruto cannot be allowed to continue destroying the country until 2027. He said Ruto has seen everything and is now planning of how he can remove the current Supreme Court to help him in the 2027 general election.
