Former Emurua Dikkir MP Ng’eno’s widow lands Key ICTA board post
Naiyanoi Ntutu, widow of the late Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament (MP) Johana Ng’eno, has been appointed to the board of the Information and Communication Technology Authority (ICTA).
According to a gazette notice dated April 2, 2026, the appointment was made by William Kabogo, Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy. Naiyanoi will serve as a board member for a period of three years, effective from the date of publication.
The notice cited provisions under the ICT Authority Order, 2013, granting the Cabinet Secretary powers to make such appointments.
Her new role places her at the heart of ICTA’s mandate, which includes driving Kenya’s digital transformation agenda, strengthening e-government services, and enhancing ICT infrastructure.
ICTA Chairperson Lily Ng’ok welcomed the appointment, expressing optimism about Naiyanoi’s contribution to the board.
“I am looking forward to working closely with you. I have no doubt in your abilities and the contribution you will make to the team,” Ng’ok said in a message shared on social media.
A trained lawyer, Naiyanoi has built a reputation as an advocate for women’s rights, focusing on legal awareness and access to justice.
She has been actively involved in community outreach initiatives in Narok and Emurua Dikirr, where she has supported women in understanding their legal protections and accessing assistance.
Her work has also extended to championing girls’ education, encouraging young learners to remain in school and pursue leadership opportunities in the future.
Naiyanoi came into the national spotlight following the death of her husband, Johana Ng’eno, in a helicopter crash on February 28, 2026.
The Eurocopter carrying the legislator and five others crashed in Chepkiep, Mosop in Nandi County while returning from an event in Endebess, Trans Nzoia County, reportedly after hitting trees in poor weather conditions.
