Two people were Wednesday electrocuted to death at Kibwezi, Makueni County.
While confirming the incident, Kibwezi sub-county police commander Ben Chagulo said the two were killed when they came into conduct with a loose electricity transmission line hanging on top of the vehicle.
“They were trying to bring down a spare wheel after the bus they were traveling in developed a mechanical problem,” Chagulo said.
Wambua Kimuyu, a conductor who witnessed the incident, accused Kenya Power for not attending to loosely hanging wires that have been endangering the lives of the residents.
“Kenya power is to blame for this accident. The electric posts are falling and wires are lying low almost to the ground. We want them held accountable,” Kimuyu said.
Police moved the two bodies to Makindu sub-county hospital mortuary.
