Eldoret Polytechnic volunteers its students as peace ambassadors ahead of polls

As the country approaches the general elections scheduled for 8th August this year, Eldoret Polytechnic has embarked on  a program incorporating all its 7500 students to be used as agents of promoting peace across the country.

The program was launched during the institutions Cultural and Extravaganza day which offers an opportunity to the students to display and exhibit their diverse cultures, beliefs and customs in different ways.

The Chief Principal of the Institution Josphat Sawe said the objective of the event was to foster national unity among the 42 tribes in Kenya that are represented at the institution, promote cohesiveness and inculcate ethical values in students.

Sawe added that they want to help students become role models to the outside world and become job creators and not job seekers.

The students led by Faith Nasieku and David Odago urged youth in the whole country to shun violence and maintain peace and unity.
