Britam board chairman Kuria Muchiru is dead
Britam Holdings PLC has announced the death of its Group Board Chairman, Kuria Muchiru, who passed away on March 19, 2026, following a short illness.
In a statement, the company expressed deep sorrow over his passing, describing him as a distinguished leader whose contribution left a lasting mark on the organization.
The Board of Directors and management conveyed their condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues, noting that his leadership and guidance had been instrumental in shaping the firm’s strategic direction.
“On behalf of the entire Britam family, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of working with him. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” the statement read.
Muchiru was widely respected for his calm demeanor, sharp analytical skills, and ability to simplify complex issues into actionable strategies.
His professional journey spanned more than three decades, including a 35-year tenure at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where he gained extensive experience in operations and the public sector.
He held a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Nairobi and was a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K), credentials that underpinned his strong reputation in the financial and corporate sectors.
