Nairobi City county workers have signed a collective bargaining agreement with county government that will see all unionisable employees get a 15 per cent salary hike.
The CBA was singed today at City Hall.
In a statement read on his behalf by the Member of County Executive Committee for Public Service Mercy Kamau, Governor Evans Kidero said the increment will motivate workers to offer better service to City residents.
“We continuously strive to improve workers lives. These pay package will cushion workers against the effects of inflation,” said Kidero.
He said his administration had been working with the county government workers union for several months to hammer out a pay deal.
“Under the mutually agreed terms I call on all parties to respect the pact and if there are any setbacks, they should be solved constructively under agreed guidelines,” Kidero added.
County government workers union Secretary general Ali Roba said the CBA entails a sound working relationship between the employer and employees.
