The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has lifted the ban on all inbound and transit flights from Kenya.
UAE also lifted the travel bans in Tanzania, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Kongo, South Africa, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia and Zimbabwe, from January 29.
The National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA) also issued updated entrance procedures for passengers arriving from Uganda, Ghana, and Rwanda were also issued by the administration.
Passengers will be required to present a negative COVID-19 rapid test certificate with a QR code for a test performed within 6 hours of departure at the departure airport, as well as complete a PCR test upon arrival.
This comes days after Kenya lifted its seven-day suspension on all inbound and transit passenger flights from the UAE.
Kenya suspended all inbound and transit passenger flights from the UAE on January 10th.
The ban was a retaliation move against Dubai who banned all passenger flights from Kenya over fake Covid tests.
“Inbound and transit passenger flights from UAE is suspended for a period of seven days. We are doing this to reciprocate a ban on Kenyan passenger flights to UAE,” KCAA Director General, Gilbert Kibe said.
However, the Kenyan suspension did not affect cargo freights and passenger flights from Dubai to Nairobi.
