Thousands of children in West Pokot schools have dropped out as leaders call for the revival of the school feeding program.
A snap survey in most schools showed that there is general drop of enrollment in within the county following the devastating hunger.
Learning in most schools within the county has been affected due to lack of food water. Hunger and poor diet among children continue to be a key reason for truancy in many schools in the county. The most hit areas are North Pokot and Central Pokot.
A spot check at Kasses primary school in Kiwawa ward, North Pokot sub-county shows that more than 30,000 children have dropped out of school.
