Kenya Urban Roads Authority today temporarily closed a number of feeder lanes on Ngong Road highway to pave way for renovations.
The authority is laying asphalt surface course for sections from Box Culvert to Shell in an exercise expected to take five days.
In a public notice, the Authority advised motorists, especially those accessing Ngong’ Road from Faulu Bank, Garage, Water Company and Baptist Church to use alternative routes starting tomorrow until Monday when they will be re-opened.
Similarly, motorists who use Mucai Drive, Residence and Carmax Access to join the Ngong’ Road have been asked to rethink of alternative routes such as Mbagathi Road on Friday to avoid interrupting work that has commenced.
While on Saturday, the same public notice calls on motorists using China Road to Shell Access to seek alternative means to avoid inconveniences.
“We wish to inform members of the public that these sections will be closed to motorists for repair. Please note that this will be a 24 hour closure to enable us carry out Asphalt Surface Course works along the Sections from Box Culvert to Shell. Residents and other road users are advised to use alternative routes to access the Mucai drive and other accesses through Mbagathi Road,” KURA said in a statement on its website.
