MoH confirms 58 new Covid 19 cases

MoH confirms 119 new Covid 19 cases

A total of 58 people test positive for Covid 19.

The Ministry of Health has confirmed that a total of 58 people have tested positive for Covid 19 in the last 24 hours out of a sample size of 592.

Through a statement, Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumincha revealed that out of the confirmed cases, 30 are male while 28 are female while the youngest is aged one and the oldest 89 years old.

The total confirmed cases now stand at 341,573 out of 3,941,058 cumulative tests conducted so far.

The new infections are distributed across counties as follows; Nairobi (24), Kericho (6), Nakuru (6), Siaya (4), Kiambu (3), Kisumu (3) and Tana River (3), Homa Bay (2), Mombasa (2), Nyamira (2), Nyeri (2) and Meru has 1 case.

Nakhumicha added that 81 patients have recovered from the disease all from the Home Based Care and Isolation program pushing the total recoveries to 335,291.

“This pushes the total recoveries to 335,291 of whom 281,602 are from the HomeBased Care and Isolation program, while 53,689 are from various health facilities across the country,” the Health CS said in a statement.

“There are 25 patients currently admitted in our health facilities, while 598 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program. 1 other patient is on supplemental oxygen, and is in the General ward.

Additionally, the cumulative fatalities remain at 5,684 as no fatalities were recorded during the period under review.
