The Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) has put out an alert warning the public on fraudsters and imposters claiming to be the pharmaceutical inspectors soliciting money.
PPB has explicitly said that it does not reach out to professionals by phone before conducting any regulatory inspection, therefore calling on victims of such scams to report immediately to the law enforcement agencies or to poison and pharmacy board for appropriate action to be taken.
Through a statement, Chief Executive Officer Dr. Fred Siyoi said that two phone numbers have been used by the official’s impersonators to dupe victims.
“The imposters have been calling pharmaceutical professionals through telephone numbers +254720651505 and +254727515772 claiming to be from the board with false hope of fast-tracking ppb services,” he said.
