Former Harambee Stars legend Dennis Oliech has called on the new crop of leadership led by president-elect William Ruto to find time and sort out the mess created by the transitional committee set in place by Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed.
According to Oliech, the current talented crop of players plying their trade in the local league are quickly shifting their allegiance to neighbouring countries due to the problems brought about by the committee put in place to replace former Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Nick Mwendwa.
“With the current crop of our talented players leaving the country to other lower leagues than ours in neighbouring countries, my prayer to the new regime is, kindly find time and look into the mess created by the CS Amina transitional committee,” Oliech posted on his social media platforms.
The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Transition Committee recently postponed the restart of the new football season that was expected to kick off soon with the Committee pushing forward the start of the new season by a further two weeks.
This is the third time that the season kick-off date has been pushed, and the Committee communicated to clubs that the season will now start on September 24, and not this weekend as earlier said.
It remains unclear whether the league will start under the dispensation of the Transition Committee with a new Government set to be sworn into office in a week’s time.
AFC Leopards head coach Patrick Aussemes has since castigated the move by the committee, saying it was a lack of respect for his job as a professional coach given his preparations ahead of the new season.
“It’s a lack of respect for my job as a professional coach. We play and train according to the dates given, but now they have said we will have to wait for two more weeks. Maybe some coaches don’t care, but for me, I plan as a professional coach,” the tactician said.
Aussem’s who returned to head his side after settling issues over pending allowances with the management will be seeking to guide Ingwe to a positive start.
Leopards finished fifth last season and will be aiming to improve on this performance.
