Azimio One Kenya coalition chief agent agent Saitabao Ole Kanchory has sensationally claimed that the Bomas of Kenya is a scene of crime in a night rocked by chaos and drama by politicians from both sides.
Ole Kanchory walked to the VIP dais where Independent Eloctoral Boundaries Commiison (IEBC) chair Wafula Chebukati and his team seats, grabbed a microphone and said the words that have since gone viral.
“I want to tell Kenyans that Bomas is a scene of the crime,” he said.
This comes after both Azimio and United Democratic Alliance (UDA) presidential agents clashed over vote rigging allegations.
With tension gripping most parts of the country over the results of the presidential elections, party agents at the national tallying center disagreed over what some termed as vote rigging.
The confrontation was often punctuated by high-octane drama in the form of shouting matches and name-calling.
The main cast in the Azimio team included, Saitabao ole Kanchory who is Odinga’s chief agent and his colleagues Homa Bay Governor elect Gladys Wanga, Suba North MP, Kisumu Woman Representative Roza Buyu, Ruaraka Member of Parliament (MP) TJ Kajwang among others.
Uasin Gishu County Woman Representative Gladys Shollei from UDA led from the front with Ruto’s Chief Agent, former Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen joining in.
The verification process ongoing at the Bomas of Kenya is almost done ahead of the much awaited announcement by Chebukati.
According to IEBC they will try to burn the midnight oil in a bid to hit the 291 constituencies in the ongoing exercise of verifying and tallying presidential results.
By midday today the Commission had relayed verified results from 200 constituencies of the 291.
The Commission on Saturday hastened the process of validating presidential results from constituencies to beat the seven-day constitutional deadline to declare the outcome of Tuesday’s election.
The Chebukati led commission has until Tuesday, August 16, 2022, to declare the winner of the presidential election to succeed Uhuru Kenyatta whose second and final term has ended.
