Winding up his last days in office, President Uhuru Kenyatta was today in Naivasha to celebrate a ceremony held by Turkish Special Economic Zone SEZ Limited worth US dollars 760million which translates to Sh91billion.
Through this investment Kenya will not only gain income from foreign countries through exportation of goods produced within the country to the worldwide market but will also give an opportunity for foreign currency input through the available sophisticated digital technology and raw material advantages leveraging on Africa Free continental trade area.
This project will create employment opportunities where 2,800 people are expected to be employed and more than 30,000 locals indirectly. This project was among many that President Uhuru had promised to finish on before leaving office.
Some of the other projects were launching of Olkaria 6 Geothermal power station to increase the generating capacity of plant to 790MW and commission the revamped Mai Mahiu Railway Station before visiting Naivasha ICD, among others.
