More than forty people escaped death after a Guardian Angel bus traveling to Buoye region on the Ahero-Kisumu Road caught fire today.
At around 5.45am, the bus was traveling from Busia to Nairobi when the tragedy occurred.
According to preliminary knowledge, the bus’s unusual tire exploded however, the cause of the fire has yet to be discovered.
The bus was carrying 45 passengers, according to Kisumu county police commander Alphonce Kimathi, and no injuries were recorded.
Officers and firefighters hurried to the location, he said, to help contain the incident.
“There are no injuries and officers are on the ground,” Kimathi said.
The police chief stated that the firefighters were still battling the fire at the time of publication.
Passengers who were safely evacuated stood on the side of the road, stunned, as they watched firefighters struggle to put out the fire.
Officers kept locals who crowded around the area at a safe distance.
According to Kimathi, an investigation into the incident has begun.
