Uganda presidential candidate Robert Kyangulanyi also known as Bobi Wine has been arrested few hours ago in Luuka, Uganda.
He was arrested by counter-terrorism personnel before he could start his campaign meeting in Luuka and he is accused of having more than the 200 supporters recommended by the EC.
“What is the charge for my arrest?” NUP Presidential Bobi Wine asked shortly before he was arrested and taken away.
Ali Mivule confirmed that Bobi Wine was taken to Nalufunye police post in Jinja District where he still is being detained after the arrest.
This comes after National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission chairperson, Dr Tanga Odoi, said that he had mobilized some party supporters to block Bobi Wine’s planned illegal rallies and processions in Tororo town where he’s expected to address supporters.
His faithful supporters followed him to Nalufenya Police Post where police fired teargas to disperse them.
