KCB, Kabras to renew rivalry in Enterprise Cup finals this weekend
Kabras Sugar and KCB RFC will this renew their rivalry when the two teams take on each other at the Kakamega showgrounds in the Enterprise Cup final.
Both sides emerged victorious in their respective Enterprise Cup semifinals with Kabras eliminating Homeboyz with a 37-11 win while KCB whipped Impala Saracens 20-18 at the Impala Club in a close tie.
Kabras is fresh from winning the Kenya Cup at the expense of KCB who were eliminated by fast-rising Menengai Oilers in a mouthwatering semifinal fixtures at the KCB sports ground.
The sugar men went on to beat the Oilers in a tense final to become the new titleholders as they will seek to defend the Enterprise Cup this Saturday.
The two sides will be yearning to give the rugby enthusiasts a good reason to return to Kakamega this weekend for a different competition.
In Nairobi hosting Impala Saracens will blame themselves for failure to slot in a leveller conversion after both sides tied on two tries apiece and two penalties each.
Both sides went on break tied 6-6 courtesy of two penalties for each one and returning to the second half.
The visitors scored two converted tries while the visitors only managed two tries and converted one to spell their own exit from the competition where the team was slated for great exploits coming off wins over Menengai Oilers and Nakuru.
KCB fullback Steve Muhoya converted both tries scored by Peter Waitere and Elphas Adunga while Impala’s Billy Arigi and Paul Mutsami scored a try each.
One conversion by Quinto Ongo sailed wide to leave KCB in a 20-18 lead that remained unchanged to give the bankers an opportunity to meet Kabras in a final this season.
