Human rights crusader, UDA aspirant Ali Mwatsahu survives assassination attempt

Mvita constituency UDA aspirant and a human rights crusader Ali Mwatsahu survived an apparent assassination attempt after unknown assailants sprayed his car with twenty two bullets yesterday evening.

Mwatsahu was on his way home after attending Tarawih (night Ramadan prayers) in Tudor, Mombasa County when he was ambushed by two gunmen in separate vehicles who shot 22 times on the right side of his vehicle.

Police are yet to establish the motive and identity of the drive-by attackers that bears all the hallmarks of suspected professional Hiten.

An eyewitness reports indicate that Mwatsahu sustained gunshot wounds on his arms and legs and was rushed to the Aga Khan Hospital for treatment by a tuk-tuk motorist.
