Kenya Urban Roads Authority has started building footbridges along the newly-constructed Outering Road in Nairobi.
This is in a move to reduce cases of pedestrians being knocked down while crossing the road.
KURA corporate communications officer John Cheboi told the Star on Thursday that they will put up 11 footbridges on the 13-km stretch from Allsops to Taj Mall.
“Currently, works on a footbridge at Baba Ndogo area has begun. The process will continue until we finish all the 11 footbridges,” Cheboi said.
He said that KURA has researched and identified the points the bridges will be set up.
