Vivo Energy Kenya assures consumers over Shell V-Power’s quality

Last week, a video by GTR Tanuki went viral, claiming that tested fuel quality at various petrol stations in Nairobi were adulterated, raising concerns about Shell V-Power.

Vivo Energy Kenya has assured the public that its fuel products including Shell V-Power, satisfies the global quality requirements.

The company reaffirms that a laboratory test that it had commissioned to determine the truth about its fuel products shows that Shell V-Power satisfies international standards, thus rejecting the video that went viral to the contrary effect.

According to Vivo Energy Kenya, a laboratory test carried by Intertek Testing Services indicated that Shell V-Power in Kenya satisfies the required Research Octane Number (RON) of 95.

It further disclosed that a Shell V-Power test conducted at the Limuru Road Service Station indicated that the fuel satisfied the proper RON of 95.1, the RON of 96 at Woodridge Service Station, and the RON of 95.9 at Lavington Service Station, among other stations.
