The burial ceremony of Christabel, the widow of former minister Robert Ouko, is underway at her Koru home in Kisumu county.
Among those present are Foreign Affairs CS Amina Mohammed, Governor Anyang Nyong’o and his wife Dorothy, Deputy Governor Mathews Owili and Jubilee Party secretary general Raphael Tuju.
Christabel died on August 21 in a road accident on Kisumu-Kericho road.
She was on her way to her home from Nyong’o’s swearing-in ceremony at Kenyatta sports grounds in Kisumu town.
Christabel, 75, was in the company of two women and her son Ken who was driving at the time of the accident.
The vehicle rolled several times and plunged into a ditch after he lost control.
Christabel died at Siloam Hospital in Kericho county. She left behind seven children and 13 grandchildren.
