The Rabbit is back with a bang! Kenyan rapper King Kaka’s latest release, Unseen Guest, is a reminder that his pen game remains as sharp as ever. Packed with razor-sharp punchlines, this track is a bold statement to his fans and industry peers alike.

Since its release two days ago, the jam has sparked a wave of nostalgia among fans, with many drawing comparisons to King Kaka’s classic hits such as Adisia, Mistarillionaire, and Swahili Shakespeare.

Produced by Big Vinny of Jadi, the track embodies the lyrical depth, storytelling prowess, and poetic mastery that solidified his place as one of Kenya’s greatest hip-hop artistes.

“The energy, the wordplay, the storytelling – Unseen Guest is me at my core. I wanted to remind people why they fell in love with the King Kaka and Rabbit sound in the first place,” says King Kaka.

Apart from his music career, King Kaka (real name Kennedy Ombima), 37, is also a businessman. He is the founder of the talent management and music label Kaka Empire, which boasts a wide catalogue of talents including rapper Femi One, events host and media personality Azeezah Hashim, DJ JR, and music duo Jadi, among others.

In 2015, the rapper launched his purified water company known as Kaka Empire’s Majik Water using his music brand name as the official name of the product. He has also ventured into movies and series production, with his latest production being the Monkey Business series that premiered on the May 17, 2024.

However, his 2024 didn’t end particularly well, as on December 17, he announced that he had parted ways with his long-time wife Nana Owiti. The two had lived together for 13 years and were blessed with three children.

In a joint statement with now his ex-wife Nana, the couple said that the decision was made after a deep reflection, pointing out that the choice was not made lightly. However, they did not reveal the cause of their breakup, but agreed to maintain a respectful and supportive friendship as they moved forward.

They also emphasised the importance of co-parenting their children with the same dedication they have had in the past.

“We honestly never thought we would one day write a statement like this, but life happens. After much reflection and consideration, we have made the difficult decision to end our relationship. Over the course of 13 years, we have shared countless memories, built a life together and most importantly raised three incredible children who will always be our top priority,” the statement read in part.
