It is a big blow to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party after a section of elected leaders from Isiolo County ditches the party ahead of the Tuesday’s party primaries in the area.
The 10 elected leaders led by Isiolo Senator Mohamed Kuti today announced they have abandoned the Jubilee Party for former Cabinet Minister Martha Karua’s Narc-Kenya party.
Kuti will now contest the Isiolo governor seat on the Flower party ticket against incumbent Godana Doyo who is poised to win the Jubilee ticket next week.
The leaders accused JP of having favorites in the Tuesday’s exercise and that there attempts to have the Party’s ears have been frustrated by senior JP officials.
Kuti said they will not participate in the nomination exercise which he claimed will be manipulated to favour certain candidates which he declined to name.
“We were all in Jubilee and here we are today (yesterday) announcing that we have decamped and will not participate in the Tuesday nomination exercise. We have decided to move to Narc Kenya,” announced Kuti yesterday.
The Senator was accompanied by eight out of the 10 elected members of Isiolo County Assembly who also moved with him to his new found political vehicle.
