Ethiopia launches second electricity turbine at its Mega-Dam

Ethiopia Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed joined First Lady Zinash Tayachew, President Sahlework Zewde , Deputy Prime Minister, Demeke Mekonnen, and other senior government officials to officiate a conference today, August 11, 2022, to begin the production of electricity by the second turbine of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.

In his congratulatory message, the Prime Minister commended all Ethiopians and expressed his sincere gratitude to all who are working relentlessly to realise the great Ethiopian dream.

“It is the responsibility of this generation to establish and continue the country to inherit to the next generation,” the message from PM Abiy read.

To bring the Ethiopian dream to fruition, the premier also emphasized that it is on to the current generation to lay a strong foundation for the nation and pass it on to the following generation.
