Kapsaret Member of Parliament (MP) Oscar Sudi has casued a buzz on social media after he sent his two wives to collect his election certificate after successfully defending his seat from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Kapseret Constituency Returning Officer.
The two Lilian and Anne Sudi had earlier sat patiently on the same front row awaiting the constituency returning officer to announce the results where their husband had emerged victorious.
According to the final tally Sudi garnered 31,534 votes against his immediate competitor Frank Murgor who got 11,091 followed closely by Pauline Tuwei who managed 6,504 votes.
The Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Returning officer made it clear that they had received an official letter from Sudi noting that his two wives should pick the certificate on his behalf.
“The law is clear that where the winner is not around, his spouse should receive it on their behalf. We have a letter in our possession from Sudi,” the official said.
Sudi has been outspoken especially on matters other than concern Deputy President William Ruto and the Kenya Kwanza brigade in the run up to the heated general elections.
He is expected in Nairobi to oversee the national presidential tally at the Bomas of Kenya, where he is a key supporter of DP Ruto.
