Six killed in bus-trailer crash at Tunnel Area along Londiani-Fort Ternan route in Kericho
At least six people, five passengers and a driver perished today morning after a road crash involving a bus and a trailer at Tunnel Area, Kericho, along the Londiani-Fort Ternan stretch today morning.
Forty-six others sustained multiple injuries.
According to preliminary police findings, the incident occurred after a bus belonging to Uwezo Sacco rammed into the rear of the Trailer under unclear circumstances resulting to six fatalities including the bus driver.
Out of the 46 injured, 30 passengers sustained serious injuries and were rushed to various hospitals in the county, including Londiani and Fortenan hospitals.
Thirteen others sustained slight injuries, while others escaped unhurt and were treated and discharged.
The wreckage was towed to Fortenan police station.
Meanwhile, a bus belonging to Guadian Coach with pupils and students on board was this morning involved in a road accident at Kimende along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
The fate of the learners still remains unclear.
“This morning in Kimende, a bus carrying students was involved in a road crash. The children were traveling back to school,” An X post by the Motorist Association of Kenya, an umbrella body for the drivers and vehicle owners lobby read in part.
