SASRA host Nigerian delegation on the sidelines of 14th AMCCO Conference
The Sacco Society Regulatory Authority (SASRA) Chief Executive Officer David Sandagi hosted a delegation from Nigeria led by Senator Dr. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security on the sidelines of the just ended 14th Africa Ministerial Cooperative Conference (AMCCO) held in Nairobi.
The three days AMCCO conference provided a platform for mutual learning on strengthening cooperative regulation and sustainability held at Safari Park Hotel beginning October 6 to October 9, 2025.
Sanadgi and Senator Aliyu deliberated on joint financial sector regulatory framework (JFSR), and ongoing legal reforms enhancing SACCO governance.
Both countries agreed that economies of scale, strong governance, and digital innovation are vital for Africa’s cooperative transformation.
“The authority continuously embraces such collaborations to enhance capacity building and knowledge sharing,” SASRA noted.
Sanadagi also commended Nigeria’s national credit registry, which enables real-time sharing of borrower information to curb bad debts.
