Ruto skips BBI referendum signature launch

Deputy President William Ruto on Wednesday was conspicuously missing during Wednesday’s BBI signature collection launch at the KICC.

In the program seen by the Star, President Uhuru Kenyatta and his handshake partner Raila Odinga are set to preside over the event.

According to the program, after the signing of the signature launch, Raila who is ODM party leader and AU special envoy for infrastructure will give his remarks before inviting the president.

In other BBI events, Raila always speaks, then invites deputy president William Ruto before the President speaks.

Interior CS Fred Matiangi, Governors Hassan Joho (Mombasa), Kitui’s Charity Ngilu, Kirinyaga’s Anne Waiguru, Narok’s Samuel Tunai, Kisumu’s Anyang Nyongó and Kiambu’s James Nyoro are among those present at the KICC.
