PSC reconsiders 108 additional names to PS list

An additional 108 candidates for the position of Principal Secretaries have been enlisted by the Public Service Commission (PSC).

This has increased the overall number of candidates that have been shortlisted from 477 to 585.

According to PSC, adding more names to the list is necessary to increase gender and regional inclusivity.

“The commission has reviewed the number of shortlisted candidates in order to deepen inclusivity with regard to gender, the marginalized and minority groups, the youth and persons living with disabilities in accordance with Article 232 (1) (h) of the Constitution,” the PSC said in a notice.

Members of the public are encouraged to provide reliable information of interest on any of the 585 shortlisted applicants before Tuesday.

“The information should be in the form of sworn affidavits addressed to the Secretary/CEO of the Public Service Commission through [email protected],” said the PSC.

Former principal secretaries, technocrats, academics, and politicians are among those who have expressed interest in one of the 49 PS positions that are open.

Among the notable individuals are Dr. Patrick Amoth, acting Director-general for health, Dr. Mercy Mwangangi, outgoing chief administrative secretary for health, Nixon Korir, former Lang’ata Member of Parliament, Dr. Belio Kipsang outgoing PS for the East African Community and Basic Education, and Mary Chebukati, wife of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairperson Wafula Chebukati.

Interviews will take place at the PSC’s House Headquarters at Harambee Avenue in Nairobi between Wednesday and Saturday next week.
