The body of PS Public Works Mariam El Maawy arrived at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Friday evening.
She died on Wednesday in South Africa while receiving treatment following an Al Shabaab attack on July 13 in Lamu.
The plane carrying her body touched down at about 9 pm and was received by government officials, relatives and friends.
Prayers are currently being held at Masjid Nur Mosque in South C before she is laid to rest at Lang’ata cemetery.
Foreign affairs CS Amina Mohamed is among the officials expected to attend the burial.
