Prime CS Mudavadi elevated as CS Kuria, Wahome moved in president Ruto’s first cabinet reshuffle
The influence of Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi in president William Ruto’s administration was yesterday evening galavanised after the president handed him the all-powerful Foreign and Diaspora Affairs docket in his inaugural cabinet reshuffle one year after assuming office.
At the same time, president Ruto moved immediate former Trade, Investments and Industry Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria to the ministry of Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management.
Former Water, Sanitation and Irrigation CS Alice Wahome swapped positions with outgoing Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development Zacharia Njeru.
Alfred Mutua powers appeared to be clipped after his roles were handed over to Mudavadi while he was handed the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife.
Ministry of Trade has been collapsed.
Kuria take over from former Malindi legislator Aisha Jumwa who has been named the new CS for Gender, Culture, Arts and Heritage.
Penina Malonza was reassigned to the Ministry of East African Community (EAC), Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs) and Regional Development.
Former nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura has been named the new Government Spokesperson and is to be deputised by former news anchor Mwanaisha Chidzuga and Gabriel Muthuma.
