Police launch manhunt for man who beat 2-year-old son to death in Turkana
Detectives in Turkana County are pursuing a man who killed his 2-year-old son after attacking his wife.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Eyenae Ekwom, 35, quarreled his wife, Eblait Nangiro, over her intentions to take the 2-year-old, who was unwell, to hospital instead of tending to his goats.
“When his wife became defiant and insisted on taking the baby to the local dispensary for treatment, the man descended on them with blows and kicks leaving the baby unconscious after he hit him with a stick. His wife also sustained injuries on her face and legs,” stated DCI.
After the inhumane attack, the man fled leaving the two to the rescue of neighbors.
The mother and baby were rushed to Lopur dispensary, where the baby was confirmed dead on arrival.
