Member of Parliament for Olkalau David Kiaraho was robbed Sh700,000 by gunmen who carjacked him on his way home.
According to reports, Kiaraho was driving home from a refreshment joint at around 2 am when he was held at a gunpoint at the junction between James Gichuru Road and Waiyaki Road.
He was ordered to lower his car window by the robber who was joined by two accomplices who ordered him to drive towards the Muthiga area in Kikuyu.
“The robber was shortly joined by his two accomplices who forcefully got into the vehicle and commanded him to drive to the Muthiga area within Kikuyu. He was ordered to lower the car window down and the robber was joined by his two accomplices. The trio then forced their way into the vehicle ordering him to drive to Muthiga,” the police report reads.
They blindfolded him and took control of the vehicle, demanding that Kiaraho give them his ATM and cash.
“They then ransacked the motor vehicle and found a total of Sh700,000 which was hidden under the driver’s seat,” the report adds.
The MP was later abandoned in his car at Miotoni in Karen.
