ODM sacks official backing independent candidates

Homa Bay county ODM officials who have been supporting independent candidates  were today sacked for violating the party rules.

The officials have been kicked out for going against the party
principle which requires them to embrace six piece pattern of voting.

ODM chairperson in the area Gladys Wanga, Governor Cyprian Awiti and
Senator Moses Kajwang’ expressed concern that a number of ODM
officials support independent candidates.

In a meeting held today at Awiti’s home at Mawego village in
Karachuonyo constituency, the politicians accused the party officials
of going against the party ideology of supporting its own candidates.

Wanga said ODM officials who have been termed ‘rebels’ will  no
longer hold their offices for going against the will of the party.
“All party officials should preach the party ideology during this
campaign season.

Anybody who goes against this will no longer be our
member hence they must quit their positions,” said Wanga.
The Homa Bay Women’s Representative said the only thing remaining is
replacing the officials.
