National Bank appoints George Odhiambo as new Managing Director
The Board of the National Bank of Kenya (NBK) has appointed George Otieno Odhiambo as the new Managing Director.
He takes over from NBK’s Finance and Strategy Director Peter Kioko who has served in the position in an acting capacity since June 2022.
“The Board congratulates George on the appointment and is confident that he will effectively steer NBK to the next level,” NBK stated.
Odhiambo who is a seasoned banker was previously the MD BPR Bank Rwanda plc since its inception following the merger between KCB Bank Rwanda and Banque Populaire du Rwanda.
He was the immediate former Managing Director, KCB Bank Rwanda Limited and joined KCB in 2009 as Head, Business Analytics, KCB Kenya.
Odhiambo holds an MSc in Pure Mathematics and BSc in Mathematical Statistics from the University of Nairobi.
He has also acquired several leadership certifications such as Practitioner Diploma in Executive Coaching and Postgraduate Diploma in Corporate Governance from the Academy of Executive Coaching, UK and the Centre for Corporate Governance and KCA University respectively.
He is a member of the COMESA Business Council Advisory Board and Chairs the Banking Sub-Sector Committee, among other roles.
