Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi in trouble for forging KCSE certificate

As the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) insists that Parliament must set minimum education qualifications for political candidates, Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi could be in trouble for forging academic documents.
An anti-corruption court yesterday heard that Sudi did not sit for the 2006 Kenya Certificate for Secondary Education (KCSE) exams as earlier alleged.
Appearing before Magistrate Felix Kombo, Kenya National Examinations Council principal examinations secretary Nabiki ene Kashu revealed that Sudi neither registered for examinations at Highway Secondary School in Nairobi nor did he sit for them.
According to Kashu, they received a letter from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) on September 17, 2015 requesting confirmation of candidacy on academic results of Sudi for the year 2006.
“In the letter, we were asked to authenticate whether such a candidate sat his KCSE in the year 2006 at Highway Secondary School in Nairobi in November and awarded certificate serial number 3381074 under index 401006/081,” Kashu said.
“After checking, we established that the 401006 code did not belong to Highway secondary but Parklands Secondary School and that a candidate by the name Sudi did not appear in the 2006 Knec database for either Parklands Secondary School or Highway Secondary School.”
According to the witness, The code for Highway Secondary School was 401005 and not 401006 as indicated in the purported copy of the certificate presented to Knec for authentication code.
Additionally, the witness said that the KCSE certificate Sudi holds, serial number 3381074, Index 401006/081 belonged to Obaje Bob Onyango, who was registered and sat for the 2006 KCSE examinations at Parklands Secondary School.
Kashu, who has been working at Knec for 19 years, maintained that here is no possibility of two schools and two candidates sharing a code number during any given examination.
