Manhunt launched for man who raped 90-year-old mother in Makueni
Detectives attached to Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) have launched a manhunt for a man who allegedly raped his 90-year-old mother on Mashujaa Day, in Mbooni-Makueni county, before going into hiding.
The suspect, Patrick Mumo aged 45, is alleged to have forcefully entered his mother’s bedroom at around 8pm before subjecting her to the beastly act.
According to DCI, the woman was found in her bedroom by her eldest son writhing in pain, complaining of waist pains.
“She tearfully narrated her harrowing ordeal in the hands of her younger son who forced himself into her bedroom and subjected her to the beastly act,” stated DCI.
She was immediately rushed to Kisau Sub-county hospital in serious condition where she is currently undergoing treatment.
Doctors at the medical facility confirmed that she was indeed raped.
The DCI has appealed to Mumo to give himself up at the earliest available opportunity.
“Should you have any information that may assist us to bring the suspect to justice feel free to contact us via our hotline,” said DCI.
